The lecture "Current Stream in Corticotomy-Assisted Orthodontics: Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics (AOO) vs. Speedy Surgical Orthodontics (SSO)," by Dr. Seong-Hun Kim, was part of the 35th annual USC Periodontal and Implant Symposium (theme: "The Age of Speed") held in Los Angeles in 2010. Dr. Kim is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the Catholic University of Korea, Uijongbu St. Mary's Hospital. He is also a visiting assistant professor of orthodontics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and at the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Dr. Kim obtained his Ph.D. in the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, at Seoul National University in Korea. He is currently the editor of clinical affairs for the "Korean Journal of Orthodontics" and serves on the editorial review board of the "American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics" (AJODO), Academy of Osseointegration (AO), and "Oral Care Report" (OCR). He is the author of five textbooks and more than 80 scientific articles.
