Actually, I tried to tell you he wasn't in the original commercial. It was Woods, Federer, and Henry. That's Thierry Henry formerly of Arsenal, considered by many to be the best futbol striker in the world.
Unfortunately the U.S. bias is so strong, nobody, including you, knew who the hell he was. Therefore, Gillette goes back to the drawing board for a second rate talent with celebrity name recognition. Hence, Jeter.

We both knew that from the start that talent was not something you could prove. I simply disagreed with the choice based on the way our celebrity culture values achievement in this country.
