SNP Alex say its unfair that the Scotland will have to make "savings in line with UK" despite UK bailout of Scottish banks RBS and HBOS. When things are going well the SNP wants its' share when things are going bad the SNP wants to keep the same funds.

Well we hope so, but nothing is likely to happen until 2010. It should be easier by then. The UK is already an economic deadweight around Scotland's neck (with a huge deficit, collapsing currency, record current account deficit) and will be much worse by 2010. Plus there will be a Conservative Government in power in London with no mandate to govern Scotland.

Both things make independence a much more likely prospect.

What UK Bailout?

The UK can't even afford to bail out the entire banking system (not to mention the Government's £600bn liability underpinning financial transactions through the City of London (or "Reykjavik on Thames"). That's why the UK has had to borrow heavily on the international markets.

Only today we see that England already has significantly higher unemployment and economic inactivity than Scotland. The UK is basically a bankrupt, basket case, beggar economy.
