Keiji Haino (灰野 敬二 Haino Keiji) born May 3, 1952 in Chiba, Japan, and currently residing in Tokyo, is a male Japanese musician whose work has included rock, free improvisation, noise, singer-songwriter, solo percussion, psychedelic, minimalism and drone styles. He has been active since the 1970s and continues to record regularly and in new styles.

ps. Except of his crazy multi-talent Keiji has the most amazing haircut ever :)

English Translation of the lyrics of the song:

-My only friend-

Anynow
we cannot meet again
I like to be alone
in the same place
as always
Always
embracing tightly
that one who has no place
where he can always be calm
That one is my only friend again
Ah, Ah
This will suffice
Nothing, No one, Is there
The same as always
Pitch black again..
My Only Friend is taken from his 1994 album A Challenge to Fate
Lyrics:Keiji Haino
Translation:Alan Cummings

  • @saumonnn

    lolwut?!

  • @Merzbowxnoise captain obvious is here !

  • i love his voice

  • @msnikish I guess youtube doesn't allow links in comments. Just google "alan cummings soas". Is this him??

  • @msnikish I don't think that this Alan Cummings is the same as the British actor. The other is written as Cumming. I think that Alan Cummings the translator is the guy who writes for the Wire due to the fact that the articles are about japanese underground? Could this be him?

  • @Amaranthslo he Alan Cummings who translates the lyrics as it says in the description , is not Alan Cummings the British actor is it? i seen his name for translations of other Japanese songs as well

  • who is Alan Cummings? i see his name in LSD March cd sleeve, and i seen his name regarding Japanese music, its not the same Alan Cummings i am thinking of , if anyone knows the British actor of the same name , is it?
