No wonder why UCF stands for U Can't Finish...God I hate that school..UCF SUCKS! I have 2 majors and they're not only eliminating one of my majors but both of them!! This is so frustrating...I should've gone to UF in Gainsville ;(
Why do comments have to be approved before being posted? Us UCF afraid that its students will say something negative towards the University?
The students aren't stupid!! You are running the University like a corporation instead of running it as an institution of knowledge. You don't care at all about the students.
I hate UCF. There dropping my major because it's unpopular. I'm getting punished because I don't want to go business school or major in psychology like a majority of the school.
phineastbuster Unfortunately, impropriety instead of priorities has been a long term mainstay of UCF. Administrators have "weathered" the budget crisis on the backs of employees and students alike for years, while spending money like water on illegal and frivolous enterprises.
Here's a hint Mr. Hitt. Cut some of your $700,000 salary and start paying for your own house instead of your UCF provided one, maybe that will save some money.
You are entirely correct. John Hitt makes well over $1,000,000 with all his benefits. Is he worth it?
I think he isn't.
How many people could do his job as well that are currently making under $100,000?
I believe before Hitt cuts programs or raises tuition, Hitt should take a salary cut to $600,000 including benefits.
The solution to the problems caused by the economic turn down should start at the top with reduced administrators salaries followed by faculty salaries.
I'm a student who's program is being cut. Maybe if you stopped building several new buildings every year and funding stupid things like ucf outdoor ice skating we could save some money without firing faculty. Cut the budget to unecessary "extras" before you cut out programs with professors and students. The ENT dept has only 14 teachers teaching almost 600 students. To get rid of that, is just plain stupid.

As a student, I want to see people engaged in discussion when problems arise. This is everyone's school. We're the ones paying for it to exist.
Education is more important that the air. it's not just about a job. It's about improving yourself as whole.
It really makes me angry when I see Mr. Hitt speak about this like it's no big deal. He should be fired for incompetence.
