A beautiful movie (although very little had to do with the real Farinelli.) Scholl's performance, however, is far superior.

@pUnkInPriNcessBoY Your comment is by far one of the more intelligent and informed postings regarding Farinelli videos. To be much better informed, people should gain accurate information from the MaleSopranos website, from World of the Castrati by Patrick Barbier, and Portrait of a Castrato by Roger Freitas.

Hi:) it was only Ewa Godlewska and counter-tenor mixed together, she sang the higher parts alone and hi sang the lower parts, the middle ones were digitally mixed:)

I have a question. I have read sometimes it was Cecilia Bartoli who sang Farinelli... is that true? Or maybe it was several singers. And I've heard also that sometimes it was just Ewa Godlewska who sang his parts (withouth mixing her voice digitally with the counter-tenor voice). Thanks in advance.

The soundtrack of Farinelli, which features the recreation of the castrato voice using a digitally 'morphed' mixture of a countertenor (Derek Lee Ragin) with a soprano voice (Ewa Mallas Godlewska) was directed by Christophe Rousset, director and founder of Les Talens Lyriques and a celebrated harpsichord soloist.
