BRADENTON --
If you're looking to keep up-to-date on key political issues and candidates -- there's an app for that.
'VoterBuzz' lets users get loads of political information, but it also allows political campaigns to put our their own message through their own words.
Manatee County resident Andrea Torkelson came up with the idea for the app.
"I started just writing down ideas, different things that I had thought might be interesting to have in a mobile app," Torkelson said. "[It's] kind of combining grass roots with technology, you know, for what's coming up in 2012.
The idea was spawned in May, but now VoterBuzz is reality.
Several hundreds of voters have already use the fledgling app, along with a few dozen campaigns and organizations.
"So far, the response has been amazing," Torkelson said. "I haven't had any pushback. I've had people from all over the United States who are interested in getting on VoterBuzz."
VoterBuzz is available in iPhones and iPads right now.
For you android users, well, you'll have to wait a few more days. The app hits the Android market sometime later this week.
