guys- what if there was a girl on your baseball team who pitched better than any of the guys in the state (or town, team, etc.) and with her, you would go to the championships. Then would you be hating on her? I am a girl and I still agree with the whole keep genders seperate, but lets pretend she's good enough to take the yankees to the world series, then would you be so scepticle? I don't think so. opinions?

@Ragitsu - if we want true equality, then women would simply be denied the possibility to participate. Men naturally outperform women, that's nature. The nurture aspect is that we teach men from an early age not to hurt or touch women inappropriately. So turning a sport mixed hurts it, because the women are outperformed, but they throw off the balance because many of the men will refuse to compete against them (as example: Joel Northup).

@Dane42o that was a publicity stunt, she played for one period of a meaningless preaseason exhibition game, it was just to get some PR about the Tampa Bay Lightning who can't get butts in the seats

That is so sexist! god! y is it every time that a girl says she wants to play baseball it's always "well girls aren't strong enough. or. guys are better. or... it's not a girls place?" well I'm going to practice and practice my whole 8th and freshman year! and then I'm going to get on that GUYS! baseball team! and finally belong at my stupid school!! and no stupid sports caster is gonna tell me otherwise!!!
if she's a good pitcher by pro standards, she definitely belongs on the field

UM, Jackie Mitchel, Carie Schuller, Ila Border........ Jackie Mitchell infamously struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in 7 pitches. Females capable of competing at the pro level may be few and far between, but they are there. ... Just sayin'.
