Ha, Multimedia Fusion. You're still using that dinosaur? Then again this is pretty impressive. I'm surprised you haven't moved on to something more powerful or robust though. Most people in the indie scene have all moved on to Game Maker. Construct also looks like a good replacement for MMF2, if they could get the bugs sorted out.

@XNBproductions This video was done before I considered HWA version stable. Therefore, many tricks were employed to create the effects without the use of HWA. After switching to HWA, I have written a variety of shaders much more useful than these simple effects. You can find some of my shaders on the Clickteam Shader Development forums (Make sure to "View from the beginning" in your search query!)

most of the effects are displacement maps which zoom little pieces of the picture with a multiplier value from -100%-100% based on a grayscale value 0-255. The multiplier itself is on a sinewave with an amplitude that falls off over time.
