The Tudors; Look After You [The Family of Henry VIII]

Well. This is my entry for xxHistoryGirl23xx's family contest. I knocked it up in a few hours, so it might not be oober perfect. But anyway, three cheers for me not needing my extension!

Its basically about Henry's relationship with his kids. The song I used 'Look After You' by the Fray made this like so, so cheesy, and I am pretty sure that Henry VIII doesn't deserve anything as cheesy, given his parenting record. However, its pretty clear, both historically, and in the Tudors, that he did love his kids, so that's my justification for doing this...Please nobody point out he was a bad dad - I know!

Also, there are very few 'family songs' out there. 99% of all songs ever written have something to do with couples...this song is no exception, so the vid very briefly explores Henry's relationship with his first three wives, and the whole message is supposed to be that even though he kind of failed with his wives, he will succeed in caring for his children by them.

Cheesy I know....

This is amazing. It shows the 'kinder' side to an otherwise cruel man. Henry's relationship with his children was complicated, but I believe he loved them.

@xariesgirl78x he was a truly loving man and father in private amongst those who saw the real him..he may have been named a heretic and a adulterer but he was also a father, a husband to his dear wife Jane and a no non-sense King when it came to matters of his country.

@terrier2468 You know despite what English history depicts of the King, he was gentle when it came to children especially his own, and yes he loved his children all three of them..but when Mary and Elizabeth became older he had no choice but to declare them illegitimate and unfit to rule..but when Jane Seymour came to marry the King she went out of her way to make sure the daughters of Henry were reinstated to the throne..and Elizabeth made her father proud in heaven.

This is soo amazing! Brilliant editing and although Henry may not always have been the most doting father, you truly showed that he really did love his children! Also thanks for including Henry Fitzroy. Poor guy gets forgotten in all this but in reality he came before any of the others.
