@samsemtex You are both wrong, the reason the fighters follow their opponent to the ground is to ensure the knockout/gain a dominant position If it's just a flash knockout or the opponent isn't knocked out but stunned then the fighter can gain mount and continue to ground and pound and capitalize on the opportunity. Many fighters have recovered because their opponent didn't follow through and keep hitting them when stunned or knocked out. It's up to the ref to ensure the stoppage

@samsemtex But if you dont the ref doesnt stop it, the guy gets back up and you can knock him out again. Then we'd be no better than boxing with its ridiculisly unsafe standing 8 count. You gotta make sure of the win, and let the ref worry about when its over.

@shinebassist I dont believe that for a second. Humans are cognitive beings and they know exactly what they are doing. Wound up or not its fucked up to punch and unconscious person as hard as you can when they are on the ground.
