Then again, beauty means nothing to a dead cold heart; that is why Germanic and celtic cities are so fucking ugly compared to mediterranean ones. Heck even east asians apreciate beauty. I for one, would have hated to have lived in 19th century New York. To me, its the ugliest city in the world, the only city that is uglier aesthetics wise, is Calcutta.

also, I am so sorry Latin America but, most of the cities of Latin America are an insult to Rome, and the Roman cultural legacy. Then again its not the people's fault; when they can afford to, most latinos have taste man, they make a building beautiful. If it weren't for asshole politicians stealing all the money, and all the scumbag drug cartels which are all over latin america now, no longer restricted just to Columbia.

Every single building, was designed according to the golden section, and later on during Renaissance era Italy, those architects did the exact same thing. Italians never go on vacation; their country is so beautiful, they don't need to. By contrast, German and Anglo Saxon turds seem to make it a point to make cities as ugly as humanly possible. I mean, fuck look at London and New York! Both those cities are ass ugly compared to ancient Rome.

The reason Rome was so beautiful, was because every Roman architecture thought of a building, as if though it were a woman. To the Romans, a woman had to be both beautiful, and be able to give birth to children, in other words "form and function." Beautiful women, have both form, as well as *cough* function. The ancient Romans thought that all buildings, even those built for the poor, had to have form, and function.

I remember the "Rome's poor district" section of this game back in the day; those Japanese are amazing when they assemble a good programming team, the spookiest thing about Shadow of Rome, is that it was so accurate with the architecture, the game felt almost like a time warp. Additionally, the "poor district" of the city, I thought it was kind of eerie how much it ressembled Latin America.
