The video is a good reminder of how much dancing entered the public imagination of the 1930s. The movies danced, and the public danced too. The audience were not passive. They left the theaters and went out to the dance halls. There was no TV, and people had little money, so they created their own enjoyments, and dancing was central to that idea. I am still astounded how over-the-top popular Astaire/Rogers were then. They didn't invent social dancing, but they made it so incredibly appealing.

"Dance me to the children who are asking to be born"
^^ What an enchanting line. So poetic, lovely and innocent. My goodness.

I love this song, it was the one that introduced me to Madeleine Peyroux. Thanks for using it.

I enjoyed every second of this polished video. Opening with silhouettes was masterful and wasn't that Bette as Jezebel near the video's end? Cleverly done! The contrast between the graceful dancers that came before followed by Bette's pouting turn about the floor with Fonda...I couldn't help chuckling. The glorious music establishes a wonderful mood and captures the moment. Thanks for a lovely treat. I look forward to the next.

I love your video. You edited it so beautifully. You know Myrna danced in almost all her movies. I wish someone could do one of her dancing scenes. You all seem to know just what song fits best. You are so terribly talented.

Superb. Who sings it?
