Can i ask how you created the textures (colours for the ink) and the background? i really want to start making my work look more proffessional and backgrounds and texturing are just my weakest areas, i have no idea why considering they're not that hard to master lol xD
Postproduction tools is what you looking for. for example, i used Autodesk Combustion for this, but you can use Adobe After Effects, Nuke, Digital Fusion, there is a lot of tools of there, you just need to read a little bit about each tool and make your own choice, in this case i just play with lens flares with differents colors and a wave filter for the "water" motion, nothing special but makes the trick :P
First I was watching adobe after effects intros, then it went to Directx 11, then crysis nuke videos, then somehow I was led to particle videos and then This came along.
