When I see these comments on my friends video it makes me sick. She is addressing a real problem, and people that comment to insult people and make fun of them and say that that person is plain out wrong. Well thats wrong. People are allowed to have their opinion, don't tell them their opinion is wrong. Let them speak. Words hurt just as bad as physical maybe worse. Wounds heal but words can leave "mental" scars.\

Thanks for your concern, but through the flame of some of these comments I haven't gotten a common idea. I just need to re address it in a new video. Honestly I don't let silly troll youtube comments affect me anyway. I bet more than half of them wouldn't say it in person, or even think to say it, so it's not like it means anything.

I was also going off of a comment "war" with someone and they used the term "pussy" several times in their argument.

And you aren't everyone, you know. Some people would rather be hit in the face than be made fun of (1 time instances are different than your entire school life, which is what I was talking about). Maybe you need to listen more.

Verbal abuse is bad, but it's not comparable to physical abuse. One ACTUALLY hurts, no matter who you are. Physical pain is universal, emotional pain isn't.

What was stated was fallacious as well as it was based on the false assumption that all opinions are equally valid. I think verbal abuse has some bad effects in particular on young children (or people with very low self esteem). I liked the video too, you seemed to have been thumbed down by The Amazing Athiest fanboys, or maybe it's the sound :P

You misunderstood the content of the video. He was commenting regarding two issues. One issue is that physical abuse is worse than verbal abuse. Secondly that a double standards exist when discussing abuse. The latter refers to sexism in judging abuse, mostly portraying men negatively in these cases whether they are the abuser, or the victim.

At no point did he say that victims of verbal abuse are pussies. He said male victims of abuse are stereotyped as pussies.

I would much rather be called any number of fowl names than be hit or beaten up. People who blow their "verbal abuse" problems out of proportion are only doing so for attention. Anyone who says that being called a bitch is worse than being punched in the face needs to get punched in the face. It might bring them back to the reality that words only hurt if you ware weak and pathetic enough to let them. Words have no power unless you grant it to them. You are pathetic.

I do agree however that physical abuse is always worse, and at least in most cases is coupled with verbal abuse. I doubt many physically abusive people do it in silence.
