John Sullivan. Thankyou. Genius.

@fcukstrateduk No problem! Apparently, though I've not confirmed this, Nelson Mandela house is actually filmed at a block of flats in Acton, West London. I might try and find it if I get the time.

@djstyli Wow, that's amazing! Thanks for that! Do you know any other areas where they filmed? I love google maps for shit like that :)

@Paulo969 That's one of the touching ambiguities of OFAH in the Buster Merryfield era; Albert seemed to be a natural at telling these quirky little stories about his (mis)adventures "during the war"... if it had been anyone other than the core characters, they would have been riveted, amused and regaled by his tales!

one person was mugged .
great comedy

If anyone wants to see what the docks look like NOW... search for Shadwell Basin on Google Maps, and use the orange man. You might recognise the flats

I love the last scene. Its the only time where Del and Rodney really wanted to hear from Albert's war days. Such a lovely and sweet scene. Clever ol' Sullivan!
