Monday, June 14 marked the first day of competition at the 2010 Kenneth E. Behring National History Day contest at the University of Maryland College Park. The theme for this year's competition is innovation. Highlights included the unveiling of a rare original printing of the Declaration of Independence and unique projects - from documentaries and performances to exhibit displays and websites - on innovations such as the cotton gin, airplanes, anesthesia, the refridgerator, barbed wire, jeans, soap operas and more.

  • Fuck this my teacher is making us do it

  • NATIONAL HISTORY DAY SUCKS DICK

  • Hey I was here with my brother..

  • I WAS A RUNNER UP IN STATE ALMOST MADE NATIONALS IN GROUP PREFORMANCES ON THE BLIND WRITING SYSTEM BRAILE AND HELLEN KELLER HAD LOTS OF FUN CONGRATS ON HOW FAR YOU MADE IT!!!!

  • I thought the opening remarks by each of the keynote speakers were ignorant and pathetic. It was unnecessary to inject race into an opening ceremony. I don’t need the agenda. Referring to the Founding Fathers as "Pale Faces" or "A bunch of White men who did not intend Equality for All". The Founding Fathers were not in a position to fight a civil war in 1776. The South was the wealth of the nation and funded the fight for freedom. The founders put in place a Document that would free us all

  • Aww theres my advisor and a ton of kids from my school are on here!!!

  • Nationals has always been an amazing way to remind the US history matters! I'm sad to say goodbye to my own projects after six years of NHD. It has truly impacted my life. It's also a Hotel California.

Also yay for getting Iowa and my amazing teacher, Mrs. Green on here!
