This is what I did for a project in a film class I'm taking. I just finished it this evening, and it'll probably be the only animated one.

The criterion is that the story must be told through one shot. I take it that the exercise was supposed to help us choreograph and coordinate, though there isn't too much of either to do when everything is drawn instead.

Everything you see, I drew using The GIMP. It was animated and the audio added in through Final Cut Pro, and the sound effects come from the Slug Film Database.

  • What program flash or ms paint

  • Neither. Each frame was created on GIMP, and it was animated using Final Cut Pro.

  • What was used for the noise when he was getting a refill?

  • It's a sound effect I found in the UCSC Slug Film Database. There weren't any soda machine noises, so I used an ice-clinking noise instead.

  • Is it just me, or did this film get brighter and brighter as it progressed?? I loved it! You're amazing.

  • Doesn't look like it gets any brighter to me.
