The lead singer of Beirut, Zach Condon, is from Santa Fe. However, I believe that the band originated in Brooklyn (if not, they do, as of now, reside in Brooklyn). :) Beirut played at the Sounds Like Brooklyn series of concerts that showcased bands from Brooklyn- so yeah, I'm pretty sure of that :)
