@petecandacedaly you owe it to your self to find yourself a good copy of this show - the whole thing is just killer. it's one of the few (the main one, actually) post-brent shows I spend any time on. i can't recommend it enough.
really not a big fan of later dead, tonally I think the Tiger is terrible (however the thing is a piece of art to look at) it has always puzzled me what Jerry saw in it. it was certianly unique and had its moments, but mostly ehh. This is a great recording however, and while I agree with other comments that bruce didnt seem to mix well for some reason he did seem to inspire jerry, so cant complain about that lol. a very very good recording for it being so late on, favorite recording is 5/26/72
@woostergino I am Happy that you are happy to read my perspective but you completely missed the point. Not anywhere in the post did I say we liked Bruce. What I was saying is that when Bruce showed up we liked Jerry even more. I to preferred every keyboardist before him but at that time they were not an option. This show is a perfect example, the interplay between Bruce and Jerry seemed to inspire Jerry.
@MrPat1243 I am happy to read your perspective- none of my friends share it, and it's refreshing to hear someone liked Bruce. I personally thought he took away from the energy and i missed the chemistry of every keyboard player before him...but it's all greatfuldeadness brother<3
Yeah we were always so happy to see Bruce's Piano setup before the show you just knew there would be magic. It wasn't so much Bruce or making Vince less of an impact but Bruce had this way of winding up Jerry. It was greatfuldeadness...
