don't ever put any genre above another, all music has something to offer and while post rock is beautiful, its not nearly as complex as many classical scores, not as technical as metal, not as instantly gratifying as pop, and for the record good rap music with meaningful lyrics exist. Try talking up the music you love rather than talking down the music you don't.

I find people attach themselves not to the music but to the lyrics of a song which is not bad depending on what you are looking for but In My belief the way you create the music capture emotions and this is the real idea behind music and having Lyrics is a bonus so u can relate to the artist and society. I dont feel a need to relate to something only the emotion the music gives me. This genre releases my stress and brings me to my utopia and that's what matters to me. Great Music BTW XD

That is a generalization. I think it depends on the individual or the moment they are experiencing a piece of music. I love vocal oriented post rock. It frustrates me that such beautiful music would be without equally beautiful words. It lacks context. On the other hand if it was part of a film score or something, it wouldn't lack context. As a vocalist myself I find that it helps to keep myself in emotional context to have lyrics and a nice voice behind the music.
