Despite a controversial abrupt retirement from the Detroit Lions following the 1998 season, Barry Sanders, a Heisman Trophy winner, would himself go on to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He talks about Emmitt Smith's likely induction this Saturday in advance of Super Bowl XLIV.

  • If Barry ended up on a better team with a great QB, he would've gone down as arguably the greatest to ever play the game.

  • @Shawn3129 that's stupid. cause it's better to not do commerce? dumb.

  • Barry sanders is the best but should get no respect for selling out for miller lite like this

  • Barry Sanders was the best RB whose career that I was in its entirety (I am two years older than he is). He let his game to the talking, and his humility was awesome. When he went in the end zone, he always acted like he had been there before. His legacy is one that more young football players should heed.

  • @Bananalisk There are recievers with better attributes, such as size, strength, speed, than Jerry Rice. That being said, Jerry has all the accolades, super bowls, yardage, just as Smith does. Smith and Jerry Rice are really in same type of position. They deserve to be called the greatest in my opinion. But there are other guys that have certain qualities that could be better then them, but they didnt win! So I agree with you in a sense.

  • Greatest NFL player ever .up there with Joe Montana. Steve young Ronnie lott and jerry rice

  • If it was possible to add all of the left to right yards Barry compiled during his career....how many yards would he have ended up with?

  • He's the greatest ever period, humble all the time when he could have been a huge a-hole(t o,ochocinco). No offensive line, wack q b,weak receivers, lame coaching staff horrible team left the game 3rd alltime and he clearly could have played 4 to 5 more seasons.G.O.A.T
