Our people are not Jewish.

What is happening is that there is a culture in Nigeria that makes most people want to live in wealth because society worships you if youre rich and if youre not, then you can die at the road side and no one would care.

Hunger is a reality for most of our people and wasted talent the order of the day.

For this, some of my people resort to cheap means of getting funding, Jewsih religion is good for the jews.

Thought 2 block ur comment; will respond instead. U r making gross overgeneralizatn. R there Igbos aspiring 2 Judaism 4 personal gain? Of course. There r also Igbos whose embrace of Judaism cost them their family connexns & their jobs, whose devotn 2 Judaism exceeds that of their overseas counterparts.  Only Igbo "Jews" who live in material wealth r messianic. Those who embrace normative Judaism still live in poverty. What they have gained is the spiritual richness of authentic Judaism.

This is a very serious issue. Israel does not (yet) recognize the Igbos as Jews. Also, many Igbos are practicing Catholics; those who call themselves Jews are often "messianic."

It would be foolish to deny that race plays a role. It is assumed that a Black African cannot possibly be Jewish. White Europeans get the benefit of the doubt. While there are no historical records documenting Jewish life in Nigeria, one cannot dismiss race as a factor in considering who gets funds and who does not.

@blessedom Why is it that every Nigerian hate these Igbo men and women? there must be something special about this Igbo people or tribe .If the rest of Nigerians can`t beat them , i will advice them to simply join them . Jealousy is the root of haters .

It has nothing to do with 'Claiming". Igbo's are referred to as Biafrans (Bi-Afrans) akin to the word Bi-racial. The Bi comes from the fact that Igbos do not actulaly hail from Nigeria - they are believed to be descended from the Jews who travelled down from Nigeria. This is not exclusive to igbos, but all along the coast of africa there are settled groups of jews. This matches greek history, the greeks hired jews as mercenaries to uphold their government in egypt centurie ago.

I am sorry for these igbos claiming to be what they are not. The worst part is there is even no DNA evidence to start with and worst still, when they finally gain recognition from from Israel, i hope they will be ready to leave Igboland because they ve been strangers there all their life. Judaism is been in Africa thousand of years before it come Europe. Moses, Nimrod,Bilal are Ethiopian origin. All these are African Tribe, and if you see the Ibo culture it have some similarity with jews. So only the G-d of Israel alone will judge these people as Jews, and He will bring them home to Israel.

@NativeOfAfrica continued- From handwashing, to Ibris, to the wearing of Kippah=O'kp'u, etc Igbo tradition and everything is Jewish. You have to study the Jewish custom to realise that all you have been seeing al your life in Igbo culture is ALL Jewish!

Igbos are not copying Jewish religion! Igbos have been practising the Hebraic or now called Jewish religion before colonialism for thousands of years (ABOUT THREE THOUSAND YEARS NOW). And that religion is called Emunaala/Omenaala/Omenaara which means 'The total belief system' of Igbos. And this includes culture, cosmogony, cosmology, philosophy, education, religion, etc. It is the Igbos way of life! Go and find out.
