Sarah Silverman does a bit on rape jokes, ironically on the same night as the now infamous Daniel Tosh incident. From her July 6th show at Foxwoods Casino.

You seem to believe that a woman could get away with saying anything about rape. Not so. Silverman is making fun of rape jokes. She is not normalizing rape. If she were, I promise there would be outcry. Second, rape is not a gender-neutral issue. 90% of rape victims are women, and 92% of rapists are men. I would love to live in a gender equal world. But I live in a world wherein rape is a constant threat. Yeah, women get to talk about rape differently. That will change when we end rape culture.

Sheesh, girls do not prefer to sweep it under the rug and just get on with their lives. Some girls, however, may feel that is their best option considering the way they are treated when they tell what a boy has done. Look at Steubenville.

HAHA so damn funny! People who get offended by comedy are wincing feebleminds who need to realize they have no sense of humor, and thus, no business interfering with comedic license. If you don't get it, then you don't get it. Too bad for you, go watch something else.

"If the guy being accused is in a position of power (as they often are)..."

What the hell is that supposed to mean? What connection is there between men being accused of rape and being in "positions of power"?

Or is the connection you're making between men in general, and positions of power? I don't know which one is more absurd. Most men are in positions or power? Does that sound reasonable to you?

This is true, but to say that rape is unquestionably the "most heinous crime out there" is ridiculous.

There are plenty of people who get raped and get on with their life. They may be mildly to severely traumatized but there have been more severe crimes than that! Are we living in the real world here?

People are tortured and killed in reality--rape alone is not more heinous than that, I'm sorry. Just because it's associated with women does not make it more important than murder.

awesome! getting people need to get over their hyper critical, presumptuous thoughts on bad things in the world. rape is bad. jokes are good. comedians are going to poke fun at any and everything no matter what a few angry people think. almost 100k views on one of the craziest rape jokes ever, told by a girl. fuckin awesome
