Watch as a M1A1HC (Heavy Common) Abrams tank travels off-road. Watch the articulated suspension system in action (gun stabilization was not yet animated), self-shadowing, the randomized exterior equipment (individualized for each vehicle) and the advanced lighting effects such as sun glare reflecting off the various surfaces.

"Combat Mission: Shock Force is Battlefront's biggest release to date and they have set high standards for the release", said Fredrik Wester, Executive Vice President for Paradox Interactive. "The team wanted to implement a few additional features to the game to create an even greater experience for the player and we are very excited about the direction the product is taking". The main addition is a brand new second tutorial campaign, which will take the player through some base camp training for his Stryker Brigade Combat Team. Accurate details and maps from the Yakima Training Center at Fort Lewis in central Washington have been used for its creation.

Combat Mission: Shock Force is Battlefront.com's new flagship game in the award-winning Combat Mission series and is scheduled to be released this summer from www.battlefront.com, as well as in retail through Paradox Interactive.

this game has really bad infantry AI among other things

sure great graphics and models but that is about it- and the ecenary in the game leaves something to be desired

i am not even certain this game has bridges in it- i know the orignal release had no bridges which shows its lacking

Combat Mission Beyond Overlord was the peak of this franchise IMO

if you like game play i give it 1.5 stars- if you are into model graphics 2.5
