8 year old drives himself

Alex and Dad both learned how to drive today.

After constant nagging, I took my 8 yr old, Alex, to the massive abandoned car park of Expo Filipino in Clark and let him loose on a manual transmission, Subaru Impreza. He was able to get it on his first go. This is a video of his first time out. Pardon the quality; it was shot using my cellphone

At the end of a wonderful day together, both boys went home feeling a little better about life. One felt like a grown up and the other like a kid again. A good time was had by all.

i've have driven my dads car before, a manual Ford focus, and when you get the whole gear change thing in tune, it's quite easy. but still, driving at 35 MPH when 14 years old, is a bit difficult. and the road i drove on would make rallycars' suspention break. HATE POTHOLES.

I started learning manual when I was at his age to. I don't get why so many parents were posting these videos of they're 14 year olds driving their automatic cars. It's not that impressive, but I actually liked this video. Your kid is cute, only 8 and driving a manual pretty well! He's going to be a good driver when he grows up.
