Well, ya, if it is on a plane that you just got finished building, and you were so pumped up about getting it in the air that you forget to check your propnut under the nosecone. Ya, it sucks...250 bones down the drain...
me too a flyer i have a sukhoi and a piper super cub never had that problem yet! i did however crashed my sukhoi into the fence riped the wings in half rebuilt and flew again!!
Looks like it was just the metal prop cone and the prop. If the engine came loose it would have just tore up the front of the plane from the torque, it would not have shot in the air. As a flyer, that is the worst feeling when you airborn, and you watch your prop shoot off. I have lost one plane that way...
it must have backfired to throw the prop off !

The spinner and the prop came out... Id amagine thats atleast 75-100Lbs and the components just couldnt handle it.
