A mostly standard Friday afternoon on the northern portion of the Santa Barbara Subdivsion with the Pacific Surfliner 798, both Coast Starlights and the southbound Guadalupe Turn.

Note:
Pacific Surfliner 798 has a Cascades NPCU.
The southbound Guadalupe Turn was rather short on this trip.

  • Why do they run the local with SD 70 ace's and not geep

  • @bnsf2027 this is that guadalupe turn that runs down to gemco/van nuys. they pick up a bunch of cars in oxnard along the way that can easily make their train 100 cars long at times, where a few geeps wouldnt be enough. usually the train out of guadalupe is more like 30-40 cars so this was a short one.

the guadalupe local uses a couple geeps.
