My First No Dig Vegetable Garden Part 1

this is my frist no dig garden that im enjoying.my husband my father and i put it together. but now im the one doing all of the maintaining. but i love it thanks for watching

This is just like "lasagna gardening" - there's a book about it. But you don't need the tar paper

i tried lasagna gardening and now i have gras growining up through what is supposed to be my vegetable garden bed. Can you tell me what did i do wrong?

No , but the same thing happened to me!

IMHO the way to go is 1 graze or mow grass really short, 2 if you are inorganic , spray it, 3 get spade/.shovel an remove top 3inches , pile it up an leave it foor 2or 3 years . 4 dig over plot with fork , incorporating compost, 5 after planting veg , hoe all weeds until midsummer, then cover with a mulch of old hay lawn clippings dead leaves , wheat straw or whatever. Getting good soil takes MORE THAN ONE YEAR!

i know i didnt need the tar paper i used it because it was there and i figure it would be good to keeping weeds out

great idea that i want to try. thanks for the video. next year i hope you remove the tar paper as the toxins from that product are most likely being absorbed into the roots of your plants and therefore into your veggies and into you. not good for your body!

thank you for commenting i did not know that i was growing an mushroom garden lol. i have seen some of the mushroom that you were talking about but i have knock them over but i wont now lol and i will google them
