(0:00) Speedball - Image Works (1989)
(3:41) BMX Simulator - Codemasters (1986)
(4:22) Rygar - US Gold (1987)
(6:02) The Real Ghostbusters - Activision (1989)
(8:35) Solomon's Key - US Gold (1987)
(9:09) Beverly Hills Cop - Tynesoft (1990)

Both the intro and outro in this compilation are taken from Speedball.

Whittaker made the great soundtrack for Shadow of the Beast on Amiga which is my favorite composition from him. Before Amiga, he composed a lots of original tunes and remakes for c64 games. Sadly, he's often left unmentioned while Galway and Hubbard are praised for the c64 music.

Rygar was the only game of these I bought and it didn't even have a loading screen! Beverly hills cop is the only game I haven't played.

  • Never had Speedball for C64, when I first heard it on Kohina stream, I thought it was from Dogs of War, the Amiga game which has *very* similar composition by the same guy - atleast to my ears.

  • @fourbarposer Indeed, Whittaker had adapted a kind of personal style from c64 times and carried it to Amiga. For similar examples check out Return to Genesis and Menace. In 1989 he composed music for Shadow of the Beast which is very unlike of his previous style and one of the greatest video game soundtracks ever made.
