Attempt Robbery turned Stabbing in the Morningside Ave. and Sewells Rd.

On August 14th 2010 at around 4:45 in the morning, the victim who is a taxi driver in the area drove into the complex of 110 Empringham Drive. He observed three black males who were walking into the same complex. He drove past the males and parked his vehicle.

The victim exited his vehicle, he did not take notice of anyone nearby, however by the time he reached the top the stairs to the address he observed the suspect approaching him from behind waving a five to six inch steak knife. The suspects face was partially cover with a dark bandana. The suspect immediately accosted the victim at which time the victim and the suspect became involved in a physical struggle which spilled out onto the front lawn. During the struggle the suspect made a demand for the victims money. The victim began to yell hoping an area resident would come to his aid.

The parties continued to struggle at which time the suspect stabbed the victim in the forearm. The suspects bandana came loose exposing his face. At one point in the struggle the victim attempted to flee. As the victim turned to flee the suspect jabbed the knife into the back side of the victims upper leg. During the stabbing the knife fell apart with the blade coming free from the handle. The suspect fled upon observing that his knife had broke and he quickly ran between the town homes of 110 Empringham Drive.

The suspect is described as male black, 18-20 yrs, 5ft tall, with a thin build, wearing a dark bandana covering his lower face, black pants and a grey t-shirt.

The victim was transported to Hospital and treated for stab wounds.

It is unknown if the three males that the victim saw before the incident occurred were involved with the stabbing or if they witnessed to the incident.
