Gilbert Melendez never fought in the UFC before but his UFC debut was for the lightweight title. AND he only lost by some retarded split decision that everyone thinks should've gone his way.

People make assumptions about FIGHTERS all the time. They take a look at his fights, his style, dominance etc and make a judgement call in comparison to whats already in the MW division. Just like how people assumed that Nick Diaz or Gilbert Melendez were title contenders even though they were strikeforce fighters. Same for Daniel Cormier. Its not just fans either. Its fighters (Sonnen, Jones, Condit). Even Dana recognizes his talent. You're Justin Beiber reference is asinine and makes no sense.
