Had to break your heart. I'm a falconer also. Have been for the past 50 years. Even though, you never get used to losing a bird. That was a really nice looking Gyr. Where do you live? Obviously it's cold enough for a Greenland Gyr. Did you get it from a breeder? Also, do you still fly? Hope so. Once falconry is in your blood, your hooked. Believe me, I know.

Geer is one of my favorite species of falcon. They will be well trained with-in 10 day.

I almost started to cry bro. I feel for you i bonded well with my bird and yes i beleive it is true that when you lose your bird or if it dies then you loose a part of your sole and heart. Falconry is my passion and lifr i live and breath it. I am sorry for your loss. Butterman
