Most damage and struggle occurs in the grounding and lifting of the suspect.Here are some point to consider to increase safty and decrease liability.

  • @bjajudo There are two common types.One which two loops are connected but have individual ties,and the other a long strip in the middle that when pulled tightens the two loops.A bobby pin and a paper clip can over come this type of restraints easily.Also when a subject is resistant the rule of thumb is to not engage your restraints.Once subdued and grounded,only then are restraints attempted.

  • @bjajudo In ontario,a security guard may not use any other device than mechanical restraint known as a handcuff.I have used plastic ties before.They were pre fabricated into double loops.They go on quickly,once the suspect is grounded,quicker than handcuffs.
