Todd's Guide (that looks a lot like Link 2 but with very important time saving modifications

1. Download image from this thread (currently v6)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6922721/Nook...ltiBoot-v6.zip

2. Write this Image to your card (I use win32diskimager or dd in linux)
https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/+download
(IF you have problems writing images to your mSD card...here's what I found:)
a. Store the image file in the root of C:\. This eliminates half the problems you could be having.
b.Use the win32 Disk Imager v.1 instead of 2. For some reason, this helped me.
c.If you are using a previously used mSD card (like...one you already put an image on for backup purposes), then your card's partitions are all screwed up. You need to go get Panasonic SD Formatter v.2.0 and wipe the card with this.

https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/support/jp/sd/sdfv2003.exe

3. Use MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 5.2 to increase the available space on your SD card to the 4th FAT32 partition. This is tricky, you have to grab the last partition on the card first and move it into the free unused space at the end of your card. Keep going until you've adjusted the space to the correct partition and apply.

4. Once the card is written, place the cm7 zip in the root of the boot filesystem.
(Should be a drive letter with boot in the name with files like uImage uRecImg etc on it)
http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=encore

5. Place the gapps zip of your choice in the same "boot" filesystem.
http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip

6. Place SDcard in your Nook.

7. Turn on Nook.

8. Hit N button when it says Press any key for menu.

9. Choose SD and Alternate as your boot option (later you can just let it boot normal to boot into the cm7, or you can choose eMMC and normal to boot to the original factory Nook)

10. Let it finish. It says it will reboot but usually hangs for me so I give it 10 seconds after the screen goes black and long press the power button until it starts up...

11. Boot into CM7

  • THANKS for video! A couple of quick notes from rooting noob. If your Nook will not boot into CM7, burn the image file and copy CM7 to your SD card FIRST. Turn on the Nook, let CM7 install. Make sure you have wifi. Turn off, take out SD card, put into computer, THEN copy google apps file onto SD card. Put SD card into nook SD card slot, turn on. Once ON, hit the power button, this will give you the choice to reboot. Pick reboot then pick recovery mode. This will add google apps.

  • would this work with 1.3.0,and im using a 16gb class 2 microsd card?
