Home made gas bottle wood burning stove test 1

A test of a home made 15kg gas bottle wood burner prior to making it pretty, inspired by a cool design from Cornwall. The glass is a tescos casserole lid, the legs from a bike exhaust. When it's finished I will post another video. By the way it works brilliantly, but I need to add an air wash for the glass.

Hi, I was lucky to have a neighbour who could press a few buttons in a machine shop and cut those out for me. However with patience, some skinny cutting discs and a grinder you could do it your self. Or perhaps you could approach a small business and get them to do it for you. The top flange was also produced the same way.

I love it. I also saw it installed in your home. It just looks too cool. I'm thinking I'm going to make one. The hotpod is too expensive for me. I figure since I can tig and mig weld I'll do it myself. I have a question though, why did you leave the valve protector ring/handle on? Does it serve a purpose as far as for the ash tray support? Thanks. Love it.

Hi, that was only present on the test, the offcut being used to seal the base of the stove during the test. In the end the valve protector is cut off to leave a disc that is placed inside the stove to close the hole between the stove body and ash tray. After use you open the door flip the disc and collect the ash in the ash tray. Make sure you do not cut the two holes the same size so you do have the cut out to make a base for your burning logs...or just cut a disc from some scrap steel.

I Love this stove. It is just what I have been looking for. Is ther someplace I can see detailed plans, especially to learn where you got the door?
