President Plans War Speech

President Barack Obama plans to hold a prime time news conference next week in order to convince the American public of his strategy for future U.S. war operations in Afghanistan. Chip Reid reports.

@cubanboy740 What really bothers me is accidental nuclear war which has occurred frighteningly close on several occasions in 1978,1983 and 1994. In 1983 the Russian command center colonel ignored the activation twice because he just knew it was a wrong. He saved the world but lost his job, An incredible story. Now that there are more nuclear players we can expect more of the same. I yearn for a simple uncomplicated life where people can just get on with one another and dump the materialism.

@cubanboy740 I was looking at some old maps of the soviet union, they tried to hog the resources too - In every generated scenario this strategy of conquering the world will always fail - The English Empire failed, Soviet Russia failed, the Romans failed and Genghis Khan failed - the apparatus of power corrupts itself long before the halfway point of ruling the world. The biggest losers are the people - The best way forward for the world is in its independent diversity, rather than control.
