A few minutes of 720p livecoding video effects in Qt5/QML with my "quint" application (https://gitorious.org/quint) using a 720p version of Big Buck Bunny (http://www.bigbuckbunny.org/) as raw material.

Qt5 (http://qt-project.org) includes support for OpenGL shader effects on video streams using the QtMultimedia MediaPlayer & VideoOutput QML Items.

A library of standard shader effects - QtGraphicalEffects - is available from https://qt.gitorious.org/qt-labs/qtgr... (see also http://labs.qt.nokia.com/2012/02/02/q...). Shown in the video are a few of those effects: HueSaturation, ZoomBlur and DropShadow.

Everything is running on a low-end netbook PC (Acer Aspire One 522 with AMD C-50/Radeon 6250) using Ubuntu.
