http://www.brazilcarnival.com.br/videos Samba Dance & Belly Dance are different dances, but similar in many ways. Both are sensual, great use of abdominal region and are extremely enticing. Samba is a little "faster", but enchanting too. Check it out!

  • which came first? trinidad carnival or brazil carnaval?

  • @Reallyweirdpeople I guess was introduced by catholic countries like France,Spain,Portugal, etc. is a celebration that happens four days before Easter.

  • @whiner00 You are correct my friend...it all started in a "similar" format of catholic processions, reason we see similarities w/ the "parades", in a sense they follow some kind of pre-defined "rout" and have established rules...congrats my friend. You hit right on it! If you are interested I wrote an interesting chronology of the Brazil´s Carnival starting on 1600. Please see below on my site at the "Culture" tab, the title is "Festival History". If u have problem finding, let me know. best

  • @Reallyweirdpeople The Brazilian Carnival, started officially in 1600: For the first time, a playful popular party is registered in Brazil, with the development of the Entrudo, imported from Portugal. In this violent, rough, yet playful activity, foliões (name given to people who have fun during carnival days) threw water and lemon at each other using buckets, barrels and cans. Some more fanatics threw stones and wastes…!

  • @Reallyweirdpeople now the official "recorded" historical fact: 1604: 1641 D. João IV’s coronation to Portugal´s throne celebrated in Rio de Janeiro. The préstitos, a type of musical procession go to public streets. According to historians, this was considered the first carnival expression in Rio de Janeiro. Thus, many Carnaval scholars consider the year of 1641 the starting point for Brazilian Carnival.

  • irrespective of all your millions of dollars,if you fail to attend this event at least once in your lifetime, then i'm sorry to say this, but you've missed out on the best party ever.and the most interesting thing is the warmth.once you're there, you feel the connection, hospitality, and love.you feel at home.no pre judice or so.love this

  • @pacderollex totally agree with you! Congrats for such a thoughtful comment!

  • what is the name of the song they dance?

  • @Reallyweirdpeople I would say Brazil because it is older. But also, it is the largest. (Brasil)
