If I Could Just Sit with You Awhile

If you are in a place where you are hurting, than this song may really speak to your heart. The song is by Dennis Jernigan, an ex-gay christian, please don't hold that against him, I celebrate his freedom and we all have our journey and we all should try to hear from the Father for ourself. All that aside, I think DJ is a protégé when it comes to writing songs, some of his most popular songs are what I'd call dual melody, such as You are my All in All and many more.

For many of his albums, I was in the live audience. I would have to say, listening to him sing live is even more powerful of an experience that even a recording of the live sessions.

This CD was my very first christian music that I purchased .... about 10 - 12 years ago .. and I still listen to it all the time. Even just today, and when I listen to this song .. I close my eyes and just sing it to my Lord ... amazing ... completly.

When my grandfather passed away 13 years ago, we listened to this song over and over and over again on our 8 hour journey to attend his funeral. Even though I was only 10 I remember the day so clearly, and know the lyrics by heart, even though I had not heard this song again until I was 21. It is such a touching song to me, and reminds me of my grandfather so much!
