Best advice I can give you. The night before you ship out, they'll probably have you stay in a hotel and leave for the airport directly from there.

Get to sleep as early as humanly possible, because that first day they'll have you processing paper work to about 4am, then your up again at 6am. Then you don't get a moments rest until bed that night.

It's a rough day.

air force combat control that jobs badass.

im 18 i leave for air force basic training December 8th 2009 i got security forces. the only reason why i ask is cuz alot politics talk about wining wars but hardly any of them experienced this war first hand. For me I can care less about politics i just wanna do my job and serve my country and the reason y i support the strategy is only for the sole reason that he thought about the troops and putting our lives in harm way before he made his strategy.

The answer to those questions is yes. USAF CCT 1993-1997- Kuwait and Iraq.

Also, I should correct something I said in the earlier post. It was a typo. I typed "someone needs to remove". I mean: "someone needs to REMIND".

My intended statement was just this. For the past 8 years, Afghanistan has been on the "back burner". Sending 30k more troops is just turning up the heat a little, but still keeping it on the back burner.

The attitude should be of decisiveness, not hesitation.

The United States has a long history of going "half-hearted" and leaving before "reconstruction" is done. In each and every case, the "abandoned" peoples have suffered greatly.

Yet, each time when we went in with resolve, the conflict was settled definitively and the people prosper.

I think someone needs to remove "Commander and Chief" Obama of this. 30k troops with an 18 month deadline? Why not send 130k+ and it'll probably be finished before the deadline.
