I don't get the dance.
I guess I lack the background to really understand, but at least I know that it's basically theater that uses dancing^^

it's louboutin 1:11

If it were a lone dance piece it would be better but put in a film based on traditional Geisha before WWII (and changes to the Geisha world), it stands out like anachronism. It's a blend of geisha, kabuki, and modern dance. It's not a traditional geisha dance! Even the footwear is off. That type was worn by highclass courtesans which doesn't help clear up the image of geisha as prostitutes which they weren't.
For real geisha snow dance check here: v=NITqkK8ARi4

I don't get anything but this: It's a true Piece of Art. : )

so beautiful, geisha is such an ancient art in beautiful & mysterious Japan.
-
I love the Okasan's laugh at the end, so funny
-
very un-Japanese, but I guess it's entertaining enough...

the book is sooooo much better...they could have really done more with the story
Oh! Now I remember why I loved this movie.
