Why ever not, the muppets was never really a kids show. The first ever episode was called "Sex & Violence"

Well... admittedly it didnt have as much magic as the original Muppet Show, so it always seemed a pale imitation.
But it still had a lot of good moments. And they had a lot of cool new characters like Bobo and Pepe.
