  • Why aren't you recharging your shield on the little green platforms?

  • @wideheadofknowledge WHY DON'T YOU FUCK OFF!

  • I just had to comment... You have made my day with this video. I actually wrote this game back in the day. And think your review is great. Thank you, and its wonderful to see footage of my game.

The absolute best bit of your review though, is that my front room is actually red :)

  • It's always good to hear from programmers on here. It a pity you didn't do more on the Spectrum because this was a great start. Glad you enjoyed it.

Oh...isn't it about time to have a new colour in the front room!

  • The graphics remind me of Myth. Loved that game.

I remember reading about Rex in Sinclair User but never got round to playing it.

  • Yeah, it does look like the fisrst level of Myth with the platforms and the small main sprite. I've only gotten round to playing Rex as well. I can imagine that I would have liked this game a lot 20 years ago.

  • This is currently no.1 on the World of Spectrum visitor voted top 100 - so thanks for having it here spin!

  • I loved this game back in the day. Killed about 210 bad guys and completed it. Rex 2 was poor though!

  • @SPINNYFUCK your videos are great. Why are being such a prick?

  • I did work on plenty more for the Spectrum, Rex was written under a pseudonym (Long story) If you check under Jason Austin and Jas Austin at mobygames you will find some of my other work. Not all as good as Rex though ;)

Im lucky enough to still be working in the games industry, and currently work on the iPhone our company is Origin8

And you could be right about the front room colour, maybe another Spectrum colour eh :)

  • Nice blast from the past. I still have this on tape, will LOAD "" it today :)

  • Heh I had this game as a kid, though I remember ours was a cracked version or something, cause when you started you got a menu to select infinite lives and some other bonuses.

I never got past level 2 though, it was really hard.

The box also contained a demo tape that showed you how to play and what all 5 weapons were and how they worked. I don't remember any other spectrum games having anyting like that
