Thanks, Laurie--nice of you to comment. I first learned this song in (Good Lord!) 1959. I was an Aviation Cadet in the Air Force. Flew to Viet Nam for the next years and started actually "drinking" Scotch and Soda while serving. It's still my favorite whiskey drink to this day, though I truly only drink wine one or two days/week. In the liquor cabinet, I find one bottle of Dewars I bought four months ago--half full with three small bottles of soda water--the only whiskey in the house! Funny.
