it was actually the intake. it was brand new at the time and breaking in. car never had any engine problems that were serious.

Thats the noise of the car telling you somethings fucked up. That goes off when your oil psi drops and what not... maybe its because you broke 100 without your seatbelt? was that the "stop" sign when it made the noise in the middle of the mfd?
