It's the easiest thing in the world to say that car safety sucked back then, and of course it did I'm not denying that, but in '82 they were considered far safer than they had ever been. And compared to cars of 15 years earlier they were. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. We think cars are safe now but in another 30 years we're going to think they are a joke.

@Sekhurity Jochen Mass. He tried to let Gilles pass and turned to the side, a tragic misunderstanding.

As a Polish, I was very sad and suprised of the Kubica's crash at Montreal. Suprised, because he was driving good in my opinion, regulary places in the top 5 or 6 but Gilles was flying through the air and landed on the barricade, it was horrific R.I.P. Gilles and I hope tha Kubica will return in next season after his crash in the beginning of 2011.

@OneRTZero WIth modern car designs you can be sure he would have been saved, I remember the crash of Kubica in Montreal 2007, almost hitting with a 90 degrees angle the wall, the car rolled, but basically it remained in its shape, just the wings flew away.

@1963zoso You're 48 years old and you go on youtube taking the piss out of dead people, you need to grow up. ps I've had a look at your favorites, you're clearly one fucked up individual.
