  • sorry am new to maya , but if the default light is off shouldn't you then add another light ? i mean how can the upper sphere act as a light source ?

  • @Seiferzed Maya uses color information from the image that you've attached to the sphere to create the light. You can also add a regular light to enhance the effects. The default light is trash though.I would stay away from that.

  • When I turn default lighint off I ge no lighting at all even though I use global illumination.

    Alo I am using Blinns and they do not reflect the HDRI lighting.

    I ma using 2011 version btw.
