(Sorry it's sideways for the first 0:25. I just uploaded this vid real quick from my phone for my Mom to see ;)

Aquaview 360 - 3 gallon aquarium with 1 male veil-tale betta and two female platies. They had a hard time getting acquainted at first. Angelo (the betta) kept chasing them around and pretending to "nip" at them, but not really doing anything to them. (Don't worry, I was close by with a net having a heart attack, and ready to scoop him out the moment he tried anything! lol) Once they were together for about 15 mins, they were all swimming together like family.

The tank is equipped with a 10W 2-5 gallon mini-heater that turns off when the water reaches a comfortable 78-79 degrees, and an external thermometer.
----------

Update: Angelo did not seem to be "enjoying" his company overall, and was rather just "tolerating" it depending on how he felt. I couldn't relax knowing that he could get pissed and flip out on them at any moment, so I decided to just get him his own 2-gallon AV360 for my desk at work. (I originally had him at work in a 1.5 gallon bowl, at room temperature, but the office started getting too cold (below 70!) so I had to bring him home. Now there is a mini-heater in his new 360, so he'll be fine. (I, of course, will still freeze to death.) I put a female betta in with the 2 platies at home, but she got ammonia poisoning in less than 24 hours, so I think even 3 tiny fish was too crowded for this tank. I put her in the 1.5 gallon bowl and she's about 1/3 the size of Angelo, so she loves having it all to her herself. I also added a Tetra Whisper 3i in-tank filter for the platies, and they couldn't be happier with this 3-gallon all to themselves. Angelo's glad to be back at work w/me, and that things are back to normal (besides his new decked out crib, with silk plants that are more gentle on his fins ;)

  • I had this tank for a few days and it suck so much! It even started to smell bad for the dishiest I had in there! I ft bad for them since it was so dirty I return the tank and got a better one with a nice filter.

  • @MARTIN3Z91 If you only had it for a few days, there shouldn't have been any fish in it yet. You have to at least run the filter, etc. for several days, and it takes weeks to cycle a tank properly; this one is so small that it they would get ammonia piosoning fairly quickly. It shouldn't smell though, if it's kept clean and not overcrowded. This tank only comes w/an undergravel filter. I bought a seperate filter for the platies. I've had mine since May and it's crystal clear and smells fine.

  • What is the name of the mini heater you have in that aquaview360

  • @OC65 It's the Marina Submersible Mini Aquarium Heater (10w for up to 3 gallons) and it's fantastic. It keeps the water at 79° w/no adjustment. I've had it in this 3-gal tank for about 3 months now and the water has been the same temp every day (78-79) even when the air-conditioning is set pretty low (70 or 72). I don't know how well it will do in the winter when we're gone during the day and the heat's not on, so I may swap it w/my betta's 25w adjustable heater, since the heat stays on at work.

  • OH AND WHATS THAT FILTER NAME?

  • @Mushman15 Oops, I just realized the filter is not in this video bc I didn't add it until later. So you must be talking about the mini-heater that's in there (with the red light).

  • @x3xWhiteout Yes, it's submersible so in can go totally under the water, and part of the cord may be in there too, depending on how deep. I have mine like an inch below water level with barely any cord in the water. Just make sure you leave some drip loop (extra length of the cord hanging down by where its plugged in, so any water that travels down the cord drips off the loop and not straight into the outlet).

  • hey man i just bought that 10 w heater how far do i put it in the tank do i put the whole thing in there ... ??? cuz i know the cord is there and is it suppose to go into the water?? i need help

  • I have the same tank with the same fish Red wag platy and Betta. Same heater 10W

  • I have the same tank. It's pretty cool! I have a beta 3 ghost shrimp and an algae eater! They all love the tank and the tall plants I have in the background!

  • I have got the same tank, my betta fish loves it! I want to add in some guppies. The first thing he did when I put him in was swin every where, and he had such a good time, from a cup, to a half gallon, to a 3 gallon :)

  • i have the same tank with my orange betta marco in it :)

  • @XXDreynDejahXX They're platies (not guppies) but yeah, he didn't like them too much, lol. You technically CAN house bettas w/other community fish (see plenty of examples here on YT), but it depends on their personality. I tried it out for like 2 days and he just seemed annoyed so he's in his own 2-gallon AV360 now (see the video description for the whole "story" :).

Thanks, I got the decor from PetSmart.
