  • What is with people going "she sounds black" when she sings? She is singing vibrato which is common in soul and R&B music. Anybody from any background can have a soulful singing voice, not just black people. We have to get rid of those who acting black, acting white, sounding black, sounding white, asian- what have you kind of nonsense man. Back to the vid though, I love Kim Ji Eun. She brings a different talent different from other Korean singers. YG needs to promote her more.

  • Exactly! it's called emotion people. They're getting into the song.

I'd like to see someone sing with that much emotion and have their hands tied to their back.

  • @Thelcedragon1987 i think both charice and kim are good infact i think asians are great artists

  • She got an amazing voice. Somehow I think Charice Pempengco's version is better.

  • she should try R&B!

  • @peakabooox3

Actually, if she stayed with YG, she could've gotten more recognition. She's in Lady Collection now, but after her group's debut, what happened? I don't even see any news of them releasing mini-albums, let alone singles, anymore.

  • 역시..ㅋ

  • @BigBangElly One and the same. If you search hard enough there are videos of TOP and JiEun performing that song together. ^^

  • @Jacobe You are so right! I didn't think you were ignorant. I just wanted to make the point for all the people who are one side or the other. There aren't really sides, there is just art. I still can't believe she looks so tiny. How does she have so much lung power?! P.S. Have you seen "Kang Ta Teaches How to Sing R&B"? The quality is so poor, but it makes it pretty clear that it's about technique not race & that he knew what he was doing despite his pretty boy image. :D

  • @dansuyume I know that soul music, jazz, R&B, what hip hop is today was for the most part started, developed and refined by Blacks. What I don't like is when people put race into things to make a barrier. They hold people back from truly expressing themselves in whatever way they are gifted with. Of course we should give credit to the people who pave the way for what we have today. But comments like "she sounds so black" or "he talks so white" is uninformed, uneducated, and holds us back.

  • How does she do that with such little lungs? She's so petitle.

  • @Jacobe African Americans basically STARTED jazz and r & b, but once you put something out in the world, you can't really own it. If someone has talent they can take it from there and make it their own. Otherwise every time a dancer lifted their leg, people would go, "oh, that's so French" (cause they invented ballet, but no one owns dancing).
